The BDA gives free technical and architectural lectures, regarding brickwork, to universities and colleges of architecture and engineering across the UK. The association also provides CPD seminars for architects already practising in the industry.

The BDA also organises the Annual Brick Awards. The Awards give recognition for excellence in design and construction using brick. Each year 15 trophies and 50 certificates are given to winning projects. The architect, material manufacturer and brickwork contractor are all acknowledged for each project.
